O’Donnell: Extended Closed Season Of More Benefit Than Pre Season Competitions

One of Clare’s 2013 All Ireland winners feels a longer closed season for intercounty players is more beneficial than pre season competitions.

The GAA confirmed last week that pre season competitions would return for 2022, despite a recommendation from the Fixtures Task Force Review calling for their abolition.

It means the Munster Hurling League and McGrath Cup will be played in January, prior to the start of the 2022 National Leagues in February.
