Eire Óg coach Gerry O’Connor feels the experience of their footballers winning run will benefit the hurlers bid for glory this weekend.

2021 saw the Townies crowned Clare senior football champions, with the hurlers facing into Sunday’s decider looking to bridge a gap of 32 years without the Canon Hamilton trophy.

Ballyea stand in their way of that goal, as they look to defend their title and collect the cup for the third time since 2018.

O’Connor says the expectations that come with a county final appearance is something that players have already experienced

Meanwhile Ballyea’s Tony Kelly feels their recent successes have been driven by the momentum started in their breakthrough season.

2016 saw the club shed its maiden tag, with further titles won in 2018 and 2021.

Kelly says they are eager to continue building on that this weekend
