North Clare Business Owner Worries Doors Will Close If Costs Keep Rising

A North Clare business owner worries that doors will close is she has to raise prices to meet ever-rising costs.

It comes as the latest figures from the Central Statistic’s Office show that the Consumer Price Index rose by over 4% in the last year.

This is only the third time since September 2021 that the annual growth in the CPI has been below 5% while also being the third consecutive month where the inflation rate was lower than 5%.

Recreation and Culture saw an over 7% rise in the last year and Managing Director of the Aillwee Burren Experience, Nuala Mulqueeney fears they will reach their price ceiling without government support.
