There is no change at the top of the Clare Premier Division standings after the first round of games since the winter break.

Leaders Newmarket Celtic battled to a 3-0 win over Shannon Olympic to keep them top of the standings on goal difference.

Second placed Shannon Town kept the pressure on with a 5-3 win over Sporting Ennistymon, while Avenue United are just two points off the leaders following a 2-0 victory against town rivals Lifford.

Elsewhere in the top tier, Bridge United eased their relegation fears with a 4-1 win over Shannon Hibs, while the game between Mountshannon and Ennis Town was postponed.
