No Change At The Top Of Clare Premier Division Standings As Local Soccer Scene Kicks Back Into Action

There is no change at the top of the Clare Premier Division standings after the first round of games since the winter break.

Leaders Newmarket Celtic battled to a 3-0 win over Shannon Olympic to keep them top of the standings on goal difference.

Second placed Shannon Town kept the pressure on with a 5-3 win over Sporting Ennistymon, while Avenue United are just two points off the leaders following a 2-0 victory against town rivals Lifford.

Elsewhere in the top tier, Bridge United eased their relegation fears with a 4-1 win over Shannon Hibs, while the game between Mountshannon and Ennis Town was postponed.
