There will be no change in the amount paid by Clare homeowners under the Local Property Tax in 2018.
At a special meeting this afternoon, local Councillors have agreed that households will continue to pay the standard rate of the tax, as was the case this year.
Previously, local representatives had used their discretionary powers to cut the tax by 15%, but raised it last year in order to raise the local authority’s coffers by 1.5 million euro.
