New School For Lisdoonvarna Given Green Light

A new school for Lisdoonvarna has been given the green light.

Minister for Education, Norma Foley has confirmed that a new school building will replace Mary Immaculate Secondary School in the North Clare town.

It follows an application for additional accommodation under the ASA scheme, which has been assessed by the Department of Education.

A new site will now be identified, following which work will get underway to progress to the design, planning and construction phases.

Principal of Mary Immaculate Secondary School, Mona Hynes says the work will be important to allow the school to expand its catchment area in the coming years.
