New Clare Pilot Programme Will Aim To Transform Tourist Accommodation

A new pilot project to be launched in this county will aim to deliver a unique solution to tourist accommodation shortages.

On average, 8% of overseas visitors to Ireland stay in Clare each year, despite the lack of available bed nights being identified as a consistent in issue in the council’s 2030 tourism strategy.

The new proposal passed by the local authority would allow for a maximum of two serviced glamping pods on suitable farms and coastal areas.

Loop Head Fianna Fáil Councillor Cillian Murphy believes the project will have widespread economic benefits.
