Murrihy Wary Of Kilmihil Ahead Of Clare IFC Final

One of the oldest rivalries in Clare football will be renewed once more in Sunday’s intermediate final.

Kilmihil and Kilrush clash with a place in the top tier on the line, with the Shams looking to bounce straight back up after relegation last year.

These sides have contested senior finals in the past, clashing in 1958, 1960 and 1976 with victory going to the Shams on each occasion.

Kilmurry Ibrickane’s James Murrihy is Kilrush coach, and led Corofin to victory in the final over Kilmihil in 2014.

He says they’ll be a dangerous opponent.

Murrihy’s fellow Kilmurry Ibrickane clubman Dermot Coughlan will be in the opposite corner as coach of Kilmihil.

Throw in for that one is at 3.30pm on Sunday in Miltown, live online commentary on clare.fm and through our social media channels along with on air updates in association with Gort Road Tyres Ennis.
