MidWest Simon CEO Says ‘Rigid Bureaucracy’ In Government Policy Is Preventing Solutions To Homelessness

The CEO of MidWest Simon says that ‘rigid bureaucracy’ in government policies and programmes is preventing possible solutions to homelessness from being acted upon.

It comes as the latest figures from the Department of Housing show that the number of homeless adults in Clare increased by almost a quarter in the year to December – rising from 53 in December 2021 to 67 last month.

Additionally, the number of chilren in emergency accommodation also skyrocketed in this period rising by 63% from 23 in 2021 to 44 in 2022.
