Mid West Simon is calling on the government to prevent more people from slipping into homelessness.
The Simon Communities of Ireland are launching their pre-budget submission today, saying more social and affordable housing needs to be built urgently.
The issue continues to dominate, with latest figures showing that in Clare alone, there are 2,644 people on the social housing waiting list.

It comes as local representatives are meeting with Clare County Council today to set out a plan aimed at tackling the housing crisis.
