Met Eireann Warns Clare Cold Snap Will Persist Into Next Week

Met Eireann is warning that the cold snap will persist in Clare until next week, but snow hope of a ‘White Christmas’.

A nationwide low level yellow cold and ice warning lifted at noon, but another warning comes into effect from 5 o’clock this evening, and lower temperatures are expected until as late as next February.

Ireland’s last ‘White Christmas’ was recorded in 2010 when 27cm of snow fell overnight on December 25, the ninth such festive day in the last 60 years.

Tullycrine forecaster, Michelle Dillon says there are no signs of snow, but frosty conditions will last into next week.
