Mayor Of Clare Calls On Taoiseach To Clarify Shannon Heritage Remarks

The Mayor of Clare is calling on the Taoiseach to clarify remarks asking Clare County Council to “get on with” obtaining management of three Shannon Heritage sites.

Micheal Martin made the comment following questioning from Clare Independent TD Michael McNamara in the Dail yesterday.

It’s understood the move, which will transfer the operation of Knappgoue Castle, Craggaunowen and Bunratty Castle & Folk Park to the local authority, is intended to be formally completed before the end of the year.

Capital funding may be needed from the Government for Clare County Council to be able to afford to manage the sites.
