Man Still Being Held After €700,000 Of Suspected Heroin Seized In Clare

A man remains in custody after €700,000 of suspected heroin was seized in South East Clare.

The man, who’s aged in his 60s, is currently being held at Henry Street Garda Station in Limerick.

Planned searches led by the Limerick Divisional Drugs Unit, assisted by local Garda units, the Regional Dog Unit and members of the Defence Forces, were conducted on lands in the Ardnacrusha area on Friday.

The man is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drugs Trafficking) Act, 1996, at Henry Street Garda station in Limerick where he can be held for up to seven days.

The drugs are being forwarded to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis and investigations are ongoing.
