Like many heartthrobs tonight, my heart tonight is in the sweet county Clare.
However, this county has proven to be the perfect place to be this Valentines Day as a Hello Fresh report has found Ennis to be the third and Shannon the fifth most romantic locations in Ireland.
For those couples and throuples looking for cosy date in the house or one of the 55 local ‘romantic hotels’, the county town has been found to sell a bottle of wine and local cheese for an average price of €13.50.
And for a night on the town, Shannon can offer a cinema ticket for €8.25 or an average three course meal for two at only €65.
Mark Harris from The Wine Buff in Ennis says today is the perfect excuse to pop a bottle of bubbly.
The analysis also found that 66% of Irish people feel the path to someone’s heart is through their stomach and 83% think the cost of dining out on Valentine’s Day is overpriced.
