Clare hurling boss Brian Lohan felt a strong finish to the opening half was the key period as his side opened their National League campaign with defeat.

A run of 1-10 unanswered saw Cork build a sizeable half time advantage, with the Rebels eventually closing out a 2-30 to 2-21 victory.

Wexford are the visitors to Cusack Park next weekend, and make the trip off the back of victory over All Ireland champions Limerick in their opening game.
