On Thursday’s Morning Focus, Alan spoke to Petrina O’Halloran, Founder of Mama’s Boobie Box Ltd and Gobnait Murphy, Community Lactation Consultant in Clare to discuss the topic of breastfeeding. The pair discussed the difficulties associated with breastfeeding in Ireland, due to a lack of support and education. A recent survey by Bainne Beatha highlighted that 80% of mother’s intend to breastfeed before they have their baby, while only 52% are breastfeeding when the baby is one month old. They highlighted the significance of support along with the support groups available locally, which can all be accessed via mychild.ie
