Lahinch Native Talty Preparing For Plane To Tokyo As Part Of Irish Swimming Coaching Staff

Clare man Paul Talty will be among the Team Ireland contingent on the plane next week for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The Lahinch native is part of the Swim Ireland coaching team who will be supporting the athletes at the games, with Ballina’s Finn McGeever also part of the Irish swimming squad.

Talty has previous experience in working with Olympic athletes during his time with the Sports Institute of Northern Ireland, having helped train the likes of boxers Paddy Barnes and Mick Conlon.

He says this year cohort of swimmers have dealt well with having the games postponed since last summer due to Covid-19.
