Lahinch GP Believes More More Hospital Beds Needed To Cater For Aging Population

A Lahinch GP believes a combination of cancelled appointments due to Covid19 restrictions along with Ireland’s aging population are reasons behind rising numbers presenting to University Hospital Limerick.

Hospitals nationwide are seeing record attendance levels, with almost 28,000 attending Emergency Departments last week.

UHL remains the busiest in the country with trolley numbers peaking at 87 this week, according to figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.
