The chairman of Lahinch Golf Club says it is a huge honour for the North Clare course to be chosen to host the 2026 Walker Cup.
The Walker Cup is the amateur version of the Ryder Cup, with the best players in the US taking on their Ireland and Great Britain counterparts.
It is just the third time the event has been held in Ireland, with Lahinch already making preparations for the event in three years time.
