The RNLI is warning people heading to Clare’s beaches and waterways this weekend of the possibility of ‘cold water shock’.

The good weather is set to continue over the coming days, with Met Éireann forecasting temperatures of around 22 degrees over the weekend.

Kilrush RNLI says, however, that water temperatures will remain low over the coming days, which could lead to cold water shock for anyone taking part in water activities.

Spokesperson Charlie Glynn has been telling Clare FM’s Fiona Cahill that there are a number of steps people can take to ensure they stay safe.
