Juvenile Handball

Clare juveniles are preparing for Munster B Championships this week with Munster Fixtures due for the Development grades.

This is keeping the development of players going as they move to Clare A grade for next year and will give them a change to challenge themselves against players from other counties. Games will take place from u12 to 17 in singles and doubles in both girls and boys.

Club News

Clubs are busy preparing for Feile handball which will take place in Connaught venues on April 20th.

Clare will be represented in the boys grades by Clooney-Quin, Kilkishen, Tuamgraney, Toonagh, Clarecastle and in the girls by Toonagh and Kilkishen.

Singles Divisions

Finals of the Clare singles competition will take place over the week with there having been 4 groups and 25 players in the singles, at its first time of running.

This has proved a quality competition and is giving players continued games to keep the game fresh.

There will be 3 finals with an all Tuamgraney Division 1 final between Conor Downes and Paddy Fitzgerald to be played in Clooney.

The Division 2 final will be between Christian Cummins of Toonagh and either Darragh Burke of Newmarket or Alan Leamy of Tulla who meet in remaining semi-final, while the final will be played in Clarecastle.

The Division 3 final sees Tulla’s Donal Madden play Stephen Malone of Clarecastle in Kilkishen.

One Wall

Irish No.1 of Wall ball code Conor McElduff of Tyrone visited Clare on Thursday last.

Conor gave a workshop including playing, tips, rules and the fun of playing Wall Ball handball to over 20 young and enthusiastic players and more coaches/adults to support the game.

This will help players in their ambition to participate in the World’s Wall ball in University of Limerick in August of 2024 where games will be available for players from 11 years old to adult.

Players will attend from all over the world and this will be a festival of games to be able to be a part of.
