Housing Crisis Said To Be Distracting From Day To Day Work Of Council Staff

It’s claimed the housing crisis is distracting Clare County Council staff from daily duties like inspecting homes.

The National Oversight and Audit Commission’s Performance Indicators Report for 2017 shows that just 10% of rental homes in this county were inspected last year.

Of the 5,084 registered tenancies in Clare at the end of June 2017, just 496 were inspected and of that number, 88% failed to meet the required standards.
