Hopes Ballymacraven River Will Flow To Recovery With Funding Boost

It’s hoped a funding boost for a North Clare community group will help to restore the Ballymacraven River to its former glory.

It follows the granting of €14,500 to the Restore Ballymacraven River Association under the Local Authority Waters Programme.

The allocation comes almost one year after 2,000 fish were killed in the river last May due to an uncontrolled iron sludge discharge from the nearby Ballymacraven Water Treatment Plant.
