HIQA Commences Second Day Of Unannounced Inspection At UHL

The Health Information and Quality Authority is commencing the second day of its unannounced inspection at the region’s main hospital today.

The Emergency Department at University Hospital Limerick saw 246 attendances on Monday, resulting in day surgery being cancelled at Ennis Hospital on Tuesday.

The inspection comes a mere 96-hours after the Taoiseach visited the facility and promised to address capacity issues at the hospital.
