Ballyea manager Fergal Hegarty feels his side are well primed to make it back to back appearances in the last four of the Clare Senior Hurling Championship.

The current provincial champions face Newmarket in tomorrow’s quarter final tie as they look to beat the Blues for the second year running.

A number of the Ballyea squad are also involved in football commitments, with the likes of Gary Brennan, Tony Kelly and Gearoid O’Connell already having played three championship games with Clondegad.

Hegarty says the dual commitment is not something he’s concerned by.

Meanwhile Clonlara boss Damien Power is hopeful they can continue their strong championship record when they face Tulla on Sunday.

The south east Clare men are looking to reach a third final in a row, and have consistently featured in the knockout stages since making the step up from intermediate.

Power says for this weekend though, there’s just one target on their minds.
