Hegarty Expecting Huge Battle With Newmarket In Clare SHC Quarter Finals

The manager of the defending Clare Senior Hurling champions is expecting a huge battle in this weekends quarter final tie.

Ballyea take on Newmarket for a second year in a row, with Fergal Hegarty’s side coming out on top 12 months ago to kickstart a journey that went all the way to Croke Park.

The Blues meanwhile have bounced back from a disappointing year to win their opening two championship games, and Hegarty says his side will face a stiff challenge.

Meanwhile last years beaten finalists will look to continue their impressive record in the championship when they meet Tulla on Sunday.

Clonlara have reached at least a semi final every year since 2008, and have also contested the last two finals in a row.
