Health Minister Urged To Intervene As Clare Health Facility Lies Idle For Over Three Years

Clare’s Fianna Fáil TD inisists it’s “unforgiveable” that a public healthcare facility is lying idle in the South East of the county, at a time when the country is faced by a health and accommodation crisis.

Inis Ghile, a16-bed mental health facility in Parteen, which briefly opened as a covid vaccination clinic during the pandemic has been lying idle for more than three years, despite being fully retrofitted.

Meelick Deputy Cathal Crowe is calling on the Health Minister to intervene and discuss the matter with HSE Estates Management, with a view to ensuring the facility is put to use for mental or public health services or nurses accommodation.
