Half A Million Euros Worth Of Drugs Seized At Shannon Airport

Almost half a million euros worth of illicit drugs have been seized at Shannon Airport.

Revenue officers discovered 23kgs of herbal cannabis and 3.3kgs of cannabis resin with an estimated value of €480,000 in the luggage of a passenger disembarking from a flight from Faro, Portugal on Sunday.

The passenger, a woman in her 60s, was subsequently arrested by Gardaí and is detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Drug Trafficking Act 1996 at a Clare Garda station.
