Garda Investigation Into Serious Road Crash In Clare Overnight

Gardaí are investigating a serious single-vehicle road traffic collision in Clare overnight.

A young woman is understood to be in a critical condition following the incident on the old Enns to Galway road.

Emergency services were alerted around 2.30 this morning, after a car left the old Ennis to Galway road, near Crusheen.

 

Gardaí, National Ambulance Service paramedics and two units of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service from Ennis station responded to the incident.

The driver, a young woman, who’s understood to have been alone in the car, was treated at the scene before being taken to University Hospital Limerick for treatment.

She’s believed to be in a critical condition.

The road is closed for several kilometres from the turn-off for Tubber just north of Crusheen.

A Garda Forensic Collision Investigator is expected at the scene this morning to complete an examination of the scene.
