The schedule of road works in the West Clare Municipal District is set to go ahead pending a significant funding boost.
It follows a special meeting of the Kilrush and Ennistymon electoral area councillors last week over shortfalls in their roads repair budgets for this year.
Despite comprising 55% of the county’s road network, the West Clare MD had been allocated just 46% of the €18.2m road works budget for the coming year, however its understood an acceptable offer has been made to rectify the issue.
