A Clare former Student Union President claims government policy has created a two-tiered experience at third level.
With higher level students of all years returning to their respective institutions this week, thousands are facing the prospect of couch surfing or a lengthy commute, as all purpose built student units in the country are currently occupied.
In the last year alone, the scarcity of student housing has led to Gardaí recording a 38% surge in accommodation fraud.
