On Tuesday’s Morning Focus, Alan spoke to Denis O’Connell who is the Senior Assistant Chief Fire Officer, regarding National Fire Safety Week which is taking place this week. The aim of the week is the enhance fire safety in the home. Denis spoke about the importance of checking smoke alarms regularly, highlighted how vital ventilation is in a room with a gas heater and the importance of carbon monoxide detectors. The theme of the week this year is ‘Working Smoke Alarms Save Lives – Have you a plan if yours goes off!’.
