Fire crews have dealt with a fire at a house near Crusheen this afternoon.

The alarm was raised at around 11:45am when emergency services received reports of a fire at a domestic residence at Sranagalloon on the Tubber road.

It’s understood that the fire broke out in a utility room at the rear of the property. It’s also believed that there was one person in the house at the time and they escaped unharmed and raised the alarm.

Two units of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service from Ennis station responded to the scene along with Gardaí. The National Ambulance Service was alerted however, when it was confirmed that no person had been injured, paramedics were not required to attend the incident.

ESB engineers also attended the scene to ensure that power to the property was disconnected so fire crews could work safely.

The fire was confined to one room which was extensively damaged while the remainder of the house is understood to have been only slightly affected by smoke.
