Ennis Journalist In Kyiv Claims Ukrainian War Has Taken Severe Psychological Toll

A Clare television journalist who is currently working in Ukraine says the ongoing conflict has taken an immeasurable psychological toll on its people.

This week marks two years since Russia launched its illegal invasion of the country.

The war has since claimed the lives of an estimated 201,000 soldiers and civilians and has triggered an international refugee crisis, with over 5,500 Ukrainians now living in Clare.

Ennis man Colm Flynn who is in Ukraine for the Global Catholic Television Network, says that one of the biggest challenges for the country is recruiting fighters.
