Emer O’Loughlin’s Sister Speaks Of “Battle” To Seek Justice For Clare Woman’s Murder

The sister of murdered North Clare woman Emer O’Loughlin has spoken of the “battle” still being fought by her family to seek justice.

23-year-old Emer’s remains were found in her neighbour John Griffin’s burnt-out caravan in Ballybornagh on the edge of the Burren in April 2005, and in 2010 exhumation confirmed she’d been murdered.

Griffin, who had a history of violence and drug use is believed to have faked his own death, with sightings of the Galway native reported in various countries over the years.

The case has come back into focus following last night’s Crimecall and Emer’s sister Pamela O’Loughlin has told Clare FM’s Morning Focus that the handling of the case has made the ordeal all the more traumatic for her family.
