Over €122 million in compensation was paid by the UL Hospital Group to patients who suffered medical negligence or adverse incidents in Midwest hospitals in the past ten years.
Figures released to Aontú by the Department of Health, through the State Claims Agency, show the total pay-out for all hospitals across the state since 2013 is more than €1.8 billion.
The figures show €92 million was paid out by ULHG between 2018 and 2022, representing an almost 300% increase on the €32 million in the previous five years.
