The draw takes place tonight for the next rounds of the Clare Senior Football Championship.

This weekend’s winners will be paired together in effective Quarter-Finals – the losers of those games won’t enter a backdoor system, so all will be hoping for a favourable draw.

Among the winners this weekend were Kilmurry Ibrickane, who defeated last year’s champions St. Joseph’s Miltown Malbay.

Cornerback Shane Hickey says they were pleased to come out on top of the tight encounter.

Also into the winners’ section are St. Breckan’s, Ennistymon, Kilmihil, Lissycasey and Eire Og, who beat Kilrush Shamrocks on Saturday.

The Townies’ manager Paul Madden was relieved to get over the line, but admits they still don’t know where they stand in comparison with the other teams in the competition.

The six losers this weekend will be paired together tonight for a series of matches that will determine the fourth semi-finalist.

This section is poised to be cut-throat, as it includes defending county champions St. Joseph’s Miltown Malbay, Doonbeg, Cratloe, Clondegad, Kilrush Shamrocks and Cooraclare.

The draw takes place from 6:30 tonight.

The Intermediate Championship draw also take place tonight, with the same format at play here.

In the winners pot, Michael Cusacks will be joined by Kildysart, Kilfenora, St. Joseph’s Doora/Barefield, O’Curry’s and Shannon Gaels.

In the losers section, Wolfe Tones will be drawn alongside Éire Óg, Naomh Eoin, Coomeen, Liscannor and Corofin.
