Director Of Services Says Council Swayed By Public Concern Over Francis Street Cotteges

The Ennis Municipal District Director of Service says the council has listened to concerns of the general public in relation to the planned demolition of six properties in Frances Street.

At yesterday’s meeting of Ennis area county councillors, Carmel Kirby informed elected members that the local authority is to postpone the demolition of the cotteges in varying states of repair.

The decision follows public oppositon to the plans, including a demonstration last month.
