On Wednesday’s Morning Focus, Alan was joined by Ciara Micks who is the daughter of Anne Micks, winner of the 2022 Clare Family Carer of the Year Award. Ciara discussed her battle with Ehlers Donlos Syndrome and the impact that it has had on her life. She spoke about the challenges she faces on a daily basis, which she would not be able to go through without the support of friends, family and in particular her mother Anne. Ciara nominated her mother for the Carer of the Year award, who she described as her ‘idol’ and ‘superstar’.
