Construction Of Lahinch Wastewater Treatment Plant Expected To Get Underway In 2025

Construction works on a new wastewater treatment plant in Lahinch are expected to get underway in the next two years.

In 2021, the Environmental Protection Agency’s Urban Wastewater Report identified Lahinch as one of thirteen large urban areas nationwide that failed to meet EU treatment standards.

Concerns have been raised locally over the current plants consistent inability to prevent raw sewerage from entering local waterways.
