Conlon A Doubt For Clonlara Ahead Of Clare Cup Final Showdown With Kilmaley

Clonlara are sweating on the fitness of county star John Conlon as the start of this year’s club championship moves closer.

The two time All Star suffered a back injury in the lead up to Clare’s All Ireland semi-final to Kilkenny which him ruled out of the game just before throw in.

He is unlikely to feature this weekend when Clonlara take on Kilmaley in the Clare Cup final, and is in a race against time to be fit for their championship opener against Feakle in just over two weeks time.

Meanwhile Kilmaley manager Conor Clancy insists their focus will be on improving performances as they build toward championship.

It is the second meeting between the sides in recent weeks, with Clonlara coming away from Kilmaley with both points from their final round group game.

Kilmaley finished top of the overall standings, and Clancy says that form is something he hopes they can build on
