On Wednesday’s Morning Focus, Alan was joined by Brian O’Neill who is the main co-ordinator of the Ireland Lights Up Initiative taking place in Sixmilebridge. Brian spoke about the initiative that is in partnership with Operation Transformation which encourages communities in Ireland to open up their local walking tracks and GAA fields this winter. This allows people within a community to meet up and exercise as a group during the dark winter evenings. He discussed the details of the initiative which will take place in O’ Garney Park Sixmilebridge every Wednesday between 8pm and 9pm for 10 weeks. He also referred to the communities own ‘Togging Out’ group that is aimed for people aged over 35 in the community that exercise together each Tuesday and Thursday. He encouraged the people of Sixmilebridge and the county to get involved in the initiative in their local area.
