Clare boss Colm Collins admits their loss to Kildare in the National Football League was self-inflicted.
The Lilywhites outscored their hosts by 0-8 to 0-1 in the closing quarter of their contest in Cusack Park to register a 0-16 to 0-15 win.
Clare had the advantage of an extra man for that period after a red card for Kildare’s Ben McCormack, but failure to capitalise allowed the Leinster side to finish best.
