Clare’s Rory McGann has been appointed to referee one of this year’s All Ireland club hurling semi-finals.

The Newmarket-on-Fergus clubman will take charge of the clash between Kilkenny’s Ballyhale Shamrocks and St Thomas’ of Galway in Semple Stadium on Sunday next.

A native of Ennis, McGann was first appointed to the national panel in 2016, the same year in which he took charge of his first Clare senior hurling final.

His umpiring team includes his sister Ann Marie McGann, who is part of the Clare camogie management set up for 2022.
