Clare’s Green Senator has defended the rise in carbon tax announced in the Budget.
The tax is set to increase by €7.50 per tonne, and will increase incrementally every year until 2029.
This will lead to additional costs for drivers, as well as in heating many homes, but Roisin Garvey says the extra revenue will be used for increased fuel allowances to help the hardest hit.
