Clare’s Aontú Rep Calls For Extension Of Driving Test Opening Hours To Curb Backlog

Clare’s Aontú representative is calling for the extension of test centre opening hours in a bid to curtail the county’s significant driving testing backlog.

The Road Safety Authority is currently processing 3,149 driving test applications in Clare, however less than 8% of these budding motorists have so far received a scheduled test date.

The average waiting time for a driving test in the Banner currently stands at 24 Weeks, while the waiting time is as high as 36 weeks in Shannon.
