Clare Widow Urges Motorists To Prioritise Safety Ahead Of Remembrance Day For Road Traffic Victims

The widow of a Clare man who lost his life in a fatal road traffic collision is appealing to motorists to place safety at the forefront of their minds ahead of the World Day of Remembrance for road traffic victims this Sunday.

71 Year-Old Jerry O’Connor was killed on July 27th when the motorcycle he was travelling on was struck by a car on the N67 near Ballyvaughan.

On the date of the incident, it was the fifth road fatality in the county this year, however this figure has now grown to eight.

Jerry’s wife Helga Himmelsbach says improved signage is particularly needed in dangerous areas.
