The amalgamation of the Clare and Tipperary garda Divisions has been delayed.
The policing units were due to become one last month, as part of an overhaul of An Garda Siochana, but this has yet to occur.
It’s understood the delay is related to the COVID-19 outbreak.
The Deputy Chair of Clare’s Joint Policing Committee has been speaking with Clare FM’s Fiona Cahill.
Sixmilebridge Fianna Fáil Councillor Alan O’Callaghan believes this was the right move to make.
