Clare Survives The Brunt Of Storm Gerrit Unscathed

Clare has survived the brunt of the first night of Storm Gerrit.

An orange wind alert was issued for the county yesterday and a Status Yellow wind warning remains in place here until 6am tomorrow morning along with Kerry, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo and Donegal.

Thunderstorm alerts also remain in place today after lightning was reported in western parts of Clare last night.

ESB Crews have restored power to nearly a thousand homes that were left without power early today, as strong winds battered the county.
