Clare Senior Footballers Want League & Championship To Proceed – Collins

Clare’s senior football boss believes his side will be in favour of the Allianz League and Championships going ahead as planned.

It comes as the Gaelic Players Association has asked their membership if they want the competitions to proceed, with the results expected tomorrow.

Clare, as of now, will play Fermanagh at Cusack Park on Sunday in a Division 2 clash, with both sides looking for a win to avoid relegation.

The buildup to the game has been marred by the GAA’s Competitions Control Committee turning down the Ulster county’s request for a postponement, after a COVID-19 outbreak among the squad.

Banner boss Colm Collins says while the GPA move has welcome, he’s confident the Clare senior footballers want to stay playing.
